Home Alone.

I managed to injure my back about a week ago. Since that time I have been spending virtually all of my time lying home in bed.

It turns out that you really need your back to be working. Who knew? I find that I can't pick anything up, sitting down is next to impossible, and just getting in and out of bed amounts to a real feat.

I am, however, catching up on a lot of television and movies that I have been missing. That's a good thing. There's always a bright side!

Just tonight I watched 'Forgetting Sarah Marshall' for the first time. Nice little comedy that one. I saved 'Kingdom of Heaven' to watch later on my DVR. I've already seen it but the girl in it is a cute one and I actually am a Knight Templar. Long story that one...but my Masonic friends know what I'm talking about.

I've been blowing off the infomercials. I think I've seen enough of those to last a lifetime. I spend a lot of time in Hell and they play those damn things non stop.

I'm looking for a good book to read. Of course I have a library at my disposal but I'm really just looking to read some real 'fluff.' I want to be entertained and I dont really want to learn anything while I do it.

On the other hand...I've been watching a lot of 'The Universe' on the Discovery Channel. I've seen it though. I looked up once.

I'm going stir crazy already. I need to get out! I find myself watching a lot of movies that take place in big cities or near the beach. I like both. Personally, I'd like nothing more right now than to be in New York City at Rockefeller Center taking in the lights and freezing my gajungas off.

I'm pretty frustrated right now because, all laid up, I'm missing the magic of Christmas! As soon as I can I'm gonna go Christmas shopping...just to do it! I like walking around in the mall shopping for people. Since I dont have a girl to shop for this year then it will be a lot lighter on my wallet.

I dont really want anything for myself this year. Materially, I'm pretty good. I'm a survivor type who likes to live on the mean. And yet I have all the cool modern man toys. So I'm good! I do need a new tie though. Yeah...a man can always use a good tie.

I just love those sappy holiday hallmark moments like you see in all of the good Christmas movies. I want to meet a nice old crazy man who rummages through junk but is really missing his lost son! I want to wind up in Rockefeller Center where I stand in the middle of the ice and turn around to see my lost love sliding toward me...trying desperately not to fall down. I want to win Wonka's Golden Ticket so I can dive headfirst into the chocolate river!

Ahhh...the holidays. Unfortunately for me, right now I'm just growing a beard and attracting elves.

For now, I'll settle in and switch off the lights. I'll fumble around for the remote control and turn on my tv. Is that Project Runway...again??

Oh well. At least Heidi makes a nice Christmas Angel.
